Enhanced motor for improved performance. The ID.3 will come equipped with an upgraded version of the previous electric motor, delivering not only more power but also greater energy efficiency. In Germany, the standard output for the ID.3 Pro S is now 170 kW, while customers in other regions can choose to boost the base output from 150 kW to 170 kW through a function-on-demand feature post-purchase. This flexibility with power enhancement is a new offering from Volkswagen, showcasing its focus on digital business models. The increased power to 170 kW enhances acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h to 7.1 seconds. The combined WLTP range for the ID.3 Pro S can go up to 559 kilometers.
Quicker charging capabilities for on-the-go convenience. An innovative charging and thermal management system ensures that the battery is pre-conditioned before the next DC charging stop while driving. This optimization enables the ID.3 Pro S to receive energy efficiently during long journeys with a maximum charging output of up to 175 kW. By heating the battery to the ideal temperature, charging time can be reduced by several minutes, especially in winter conditions. When utilizing navigation guidance with the improved Electric Vehicle Route Planner, pre-conditioning activates automatically on the way to the next fast-charging station. The feature can also be manually initiated through the charging menu on the infotainment system without active route guidance. Users can conveniently plan routes with up to 10 charging stops and 10 stopovers on a smartphone or web portal and transmit them to the infotainment system.
Standard advanced safety features onboard. The ID.3 Pro S comes equipped with a variety of modern assist systems as standard. These include Adaptive Cruise Control ACC, Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, lane keeping system Lane Assist, oncoming vehicle braking when turning, and Dynamic Road Sign Display. Another standard feature is the Car2X traffic hazard alert system, which provides drivers with early warnings about road conditions like roadworks, accidents, end of traffic queues, or emergency vehicles.
Enhanced and new assistance systems available. Optional equipment includes innovative systems such as enhanced Travel Assist utilizing swarm data for assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance across all speeds, as well as assisted lane changing on highways. Optional Park Assist Plus, with a memory function for automated parking maneuvers up to 50 meters, now includes a remote function for smartphone-controlled remote parking. The exit warning system, a new addition to the ID.3 lineup, prevents doors from opening if a vehicle approaches from behind, providing audible and visual warnings and briefly restricting door access in case of imminent danger.
