Munich. When 22 national teams, consisting of six women’s and 16 men’s teams, each with 60 riders, compete for the prestigious trophy at the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024 Namibia from September 15 to 20, 2024, they will have a reliable companion in the form of the BMW R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike.
The R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike has been specifically designed for this event, which has been based on the R 1300 GS since 2008 and is equipped with specialized accessories for all types of terrain. The powerful GS with its boxer engine comes with a handlebar riser, engine protection bar, underride and frame guard, adjustable gear and brake levers, GS Vario rider footrests, enduro hand levers, headlight protection guard, and white handguard extensions. The off-road tires with cross-spoke wheels and a single seat bench are tailored to handle the challenging terrain of the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024 Namibia in East Africa.
While there are some differences, the R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike can be configured based on the R 1300 GS Trophy.
Although the BMW Motorrad Competition Bike is not available for sale in its exact form, it is derived from the R 1300 GS Trophy model variant, with a few exceptions such as stickers, the large underride guard, and the gearshift lever. The Racing Blue metallic color with red and white stripes and lettering, along with the matte white metallic painted rear frame, showcases the sporty nature of the R 1300 GS Trophy, setting the stage for adventurous off-road riding – just like the teams will experience on their R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bikes in September.
Emphasizing the off-road expertise, the Trophy comes equipped with radiator guards for protection against damage, such as stone chipping. The robust cross-spoke wheels with black rims and an option for gold rims further enhance the off-road capabilities.

The BMW F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike – a versatile, off-road BMW GS for mid-range use serving as the vehicle for the GS Trophy Marshal Team.
The GS Trophy Marshals, responsible for safely guiding the participants through Namibia’s challenging terrain, can rely on the high off-road capabilities of the F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike, which is BMW Motorrad’s premium offering in the mid-range touring enduro segment.
With 77 kW (105 hp) of power and improved off-road qualities, along with a weight reduction of 14 kg compared to its predecessor, the sporty F 900 GS series in the GS models feels equally at home in Namibia, just like the R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike.
