- New arrangements provide access to EVgo and Electrify America charging networks, with single-app access through the HondaLink® and Acura EV apps
- Honda and Acura customers will now have the ability to utilize Tesla Supercharger stations nationwide
- A partnership with seven prominent automakers, including Honda, will establish a new high-powered fast charging network
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has announced new agreements with EVgo and Electrify America, along with roaming network partners, expanding access to Honda and Acura EV customers to some of the largest charging networks in North America. These recent agreements complement the prior announcement of Honda adopting the NACS charging standard, granting Honda and Acura EVs access to the Tesla Supercharger network.
In addition to these developments, Honda has teamed up with six other major automakers to create an advanced high powered charging network. By 2024, Honda and Acura EV customers in the US will be able to utilize the majority of public American DC fast chargers, with an estimated 100,000 DC charge points expected by 2030.
“Honda is committed to offering our customers the most comprehensive array of fast-charging options among all automakers,” said Jay Joseph, Vice President of Sustainability & Business Development at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “With access to various fast-charging networks like Tesla’s Supercharger network, EVgo, Electrify America, and roaming partners, Honda and Acura EV drivers will enjoy convenient, stress-free charging on the go.”
New Charging Partnerships
The recent agreements with EVgo and Electrify America, two major public fast charging networks for EVs, will enable Honda and Acura EV owners to access thousands of fast chargers across the US using a single app. Customers can find and use chargers, pay for charging, redeem credits, enroll in subscription plans, and access other features seamlessly through the HondaLink and Acura EV smartphone apps at EVgo and Electrify America stations, as well as those of their roaming partners.

Upon purchasing or leasing a new Honda or Acura EV, customers can choose from three charging packages included in the MSRP. These packages offer a mix of public charging credits, charging equipment, and installation credits to cater to each buyer’s needs.
Charging credits with EVgo and its roaming network partners are included with each optional charging package, providing additional convenient options for EV owners. Depending on the package, customers can receive different levels of charging credits as well as installation credits to support home charging.
Electrify America will offer first-time Honda and Acura EV owners 60kWh of complimentary public charging with each available charging package. This makes Honda the first automaker to offer credits across multiple charging networks in the US.
More details about these charging packages will be disclosed closer to the launches of the all-new Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX in early 2024.

Tesla Supercharger Network Access
As part of the recent developments, Honda and Acura customers will now have access to Tesla Supercharger stations through the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS). Honda plans to equip the 2024 Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port, with compatibility with NACS through a charging adaptor. A new Honda EV model in 2025 will also feature a NACS port as part of Honda’s ongoing adoption of NACS standards.
Joint Venture EV Charging Network
American Honda has partnered with seven major automakers to establish a joint venture aimed at creating a reliable high-powered charging network for EVs in North America. This initiative seeks to make EV charging more convenient, accessible, and reliable for consumers, with renewable energy powering the network.
The joint venture is expected to launch this year and aims to become a leading network of high-powered charging stations in North America, accessible to all battery-powered electric vehicles using CCS or NACS standards.
