In the Hypercar category, Porsche Penske Motorsport’s No. 6 finished fourth overall as the highest-ranking 963. The team’s No. 5 car and the two hybrid prototypes from the Hertz Team Jota also secured top-10 finishes.
The 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was marked by extreme weather conditions. A record-breaking crowd of 329,000 spectators witnessed the endurance race. Intense rain led to safety car deployments and race neutralisations. Additional rain showers in the final hours and moments of the race added to the challenge. Through strategic planning and exceptional driving, Richard Lietz, Morris Schuring, and Yasser Shahin clinched victory in the LMGT3 class without major incidents. The Manthey EMA team’s 911 GT3 R secured a one-lap lead after 24 hours, while the Manthey PureRxcing car faced technical issues and finished 14th.

Sebastian Golz, the Project Manager of the Porsche 911 GT3 R, expressed his delight at being the first manufacturer to win at Le Mans with a GT3 car. The Porsche 963 cars faced challenges during the race, with the No. 6 finishing just off the podium and the No. 5 in sixth place. Unfortunately, the No. 4 car had to retire after an accident. Despite the setbacks, Porsche aims to bounce back and continue their pursuit of success in future races.
