Munich/Cernobbio. The BMW Group is unveiling the #BMW Concept Skytop at this year’s #Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. This unique vehicle is characterized by its exceptional elegance and exquisite design, resembling a beautifully crafted sculpture. The open two-seater exudes a sporty and elegant aesthetic, combined with a muscular stance. Both the interior and exterior of the concept car feature warm monochromatic colors, showcasing a blend of exclusive materials and traditional craftsmanship.
“The BMW Concept Skytop is a truly exceptional and exotic design that embodies the spirit of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design. “It offers a perfect balance of driving dynamics and elegance, reminiscent of iconic models like the BMW Z8 or BMW 503.”
Sporty Proportions, Organic Design.
The BMW Concept Skytop’s exterior design is crafted to evoke a sense of wanderlust. Its sleek, muscular surfaces are defined by precise lines that enhance the vehicle’s rear volume. The door handles are seamlessly integrated into the door shoulders, while the light-alloy wheels with precise lamellas add to its unique appearance.

From a top-down view, the sweeping bonnet, iconic BMW shark-nose design, and retracted rear section draw attention. The design pays homage to the legendary BMW Z8 roadster, with a distinctive spline that extends from the bonnet to the tailgate, highlighting the vehicle’s dynamic silhouette.
The intricate design of the headlights is seamlessly integrated into the overall concept, featuring LED units on milled aluminum carriers. The rear lights complement the BMW Concept Skytop’s modern appearance, with a clean and defined shape.
The leather-finished roll-over bar behind the seats, combined with side fins on the B-pillar and a retractable rear window, enhance the BMW Concept Skytop’s design. The two removable roof parts, also finished in leather, can be easily stored in a dedicated compartment.
The carefully crafted color scheme creates a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior, whether the roof is open or closed. The rear section features a color gradient from reddish-brown to silver with a chrome shadow effect, showcasing the artistry of a master painter at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing.
