At 08:00 on a Thursday morning, we set off from the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen for a road trip covering almost 4,500 kilometers to Istanbul and back. Our journey takes us through seven countries, with numerous toll stations and border controls leading to inevitable queues. The vehicle we are testing is the new Taycan Sport Turismo with Performance Battery Plus and rear-wheel drive, offering 320 kW, a top speed of 230 km/h, and a WLTP range of 650 km.
Starting the journey, we encounter traffic in Stuttgart, delaying our departure towards Munich. We drive fast where possible, utilizing the Porsche Charging Service to access charging points from various providers. Our first charging stop is at the Golling West service station 417 km away, where we face a slight hiccup with charging power initially before resolving it and proceeding with the journey.
Continuing through Austria and Croatia, we encounter varying charging experiences before reaching our destination in Istanbul after a challenging but rewarding journey. The return leg involves stops in Bulgaria and Serbia, with efficient charging and smooth driving throughout.
After an eventful journey, we conclude our road trip with impressive statistics showcasing the efficiency and performance of the Taycan, proving its capabilities on a long-distance journey.
